East Perth-based digital agency Equilibrium has recently launched the all new, multi-site web portal for VenuesWest, and three major venues, in a move sees the state government agency keep pace with Perth's entertainment renaissance.
Appointed after a highly competitive tender process, Equilibrium was tasked with creating a world-class user experience for VenuesWest assets including HBF Stadium, HBF Arena and nib Stadium, according to Equilibrium's Digital Director, Stephen Dodge.
"VenuesWest is the heart of WA's sporting and entertainment industry, and as such is playing a pivotal role in this vision of a "new Perth" as a vibrant entertainment capital. It is only fitting that they have a digital asset that properly represents their premium stable of venues.
"The new, multi-site web portal makes use of emerging technologies to optimise user experience at all of VenuesWest's asset touch points online; from booking a gym class at HBF Stadium, checking swimming lane availabilities at HBF Arena, to getting tickets for the latest international acts visiting Perth."
For Equilibrium the challenge was in articulating the scope of VenuesWest's asset ownership and management and from here creating intuitive information architecture for a broad set of functionalities and discrete user groups.
"The sites make use of a new, modern CMS for better all-round usability, they're now mobile friendly and intuitive, all of which encourages enquiry and drives conversion.
"This project also lends itself to some exciting digital innovation.
"All sites include industry leading techniques for lead capture and enquiry conversion, but for the selected sports and entertainment venues we were able to implement technology used by some of the most well-known stadiums in the world.
"Particularly exciting is the new "View From Your Seat" function, available on the HBF Arena and HBF Stadium sites, allowing event patrons a sneak peek of the view before purchasing tickets. A feature patrons are likely to love.
"We also worked closely with VenuesWest adding an interactive tour feature, using Google Indoor Street View which allows users to walk through and explore HBF's two stadiums.
"It's about creating a world-class digital presence for Perth's world-class venues," said Mr Dodge.
According to VenuesWest Acting CEO, Janis Carren, "Since the multi-site launch in September, asset membership and function enquiries have increased markedly; a fantastic result.
"We look forward to seeing the new sites in full flight in the coming weeks and across our busiest period, the summer sporting and event season."
Equilibrium's Managing Director, Warren Gibbs added, "VenuesWest's new multi-site web portal is a testament to Equilibrium's versatility in the digital space and demonstrates our ability to tailor world-class and user-friendly solutions for what is really quite a complex set of needs.
"It is a pleasure to have partnered with VenuesWest to help create a new digital home for Perth's world class sporting and entertainment venues."
